Some people are born with a distinguished ability of leadership and proficiency to change ‘what others cannot’, to do ‘what is indispensable’, and to establish, ‘what is needed’. These are those, who change the World and leave their impressions on people’s mind. These people are called ‘Leaders’. Although we might know about many great Indian leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose etc. but are we aware of the great leaders who not only influenced the each and every person living on earth and made special place in World History?
This is a list of those ideal leaders and revolutionaries who are the ultimate source of inspiration for all the present leaders as well as our budding leaders and youth.


George Washington
George Washington was the first President of America, from April 30, 1789 to March 4, 1797. Due to his nationalism and his excellent military skills, the Continental Congress in 1775 appointed him as Major General and was elected by congress to be the Commander in Chief of the Continental Army. He led the Continental Army against The Great Britain in American War Of Independence and finally established its independence from the mighty British Empire.
It was all due to Washington’s courage, determination, passion, authority, idealism and his supreme leadership that America came to be known as an independent nation and fought with the British for its independence. Due to these achievements he came to be known as the “First American” and “Father of the Country.”

Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln is considered as one of the greatest leaders and personality of all time. He rose from a log cabin to the White house. But his greatness lies in his guidance, leadership, love and passion for his nation and humanity. He was the one who led America effectively through its greatest crisis “The Civil War”. Due to his firm determination and leadership he defeated the Secessionists and piloted America through the fire of The Civil War. He not only guided its nation like the GOD but also abolished slavery by the Thirteen Amendment in 1865.
In 1865 he was assassinated and became a national Hero and is still observed as such and regarded as one of the greatest American Presidents and a deity for brilliant leadership, patriotism and determination.

Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. was an African American pastor and a prominent leader for civil right movements in USA. He from a very young age led many civil right movements against racial discrimination that prevailed at height in America at that time. Like Gandhiji as his inspiration, he too used non-violent means like civil disobedience etc and due to his determination, courage and leadership he was soon able to end the racial discrimination and segregation and changed America forever. Due to these achievements he became the youngest recipient of the Noble peace prize in 1964 and was assassinated in 1968.
It is due to him only that the human rights and civil rights were secured in America and the whole world. He was seen as a public hero and a great leader.

Che Guevara
Che Guevara was a medical student who traveled through Latin America and was transformed by observing the worse economic conditions prevailing there. He thought it to be the result of imperialism and colonialism and decided to fight against it. This persuaded him for a worldwide revolution and for that revolution he set up organizations like Party of the Cuban Socialist Revolution. He believed in guerrilla warfare and invaded Cuba like other revolutionaries to overthrow US based dictatorship.
Due to his courage, determination, and military skills he was able to bring a revolution in Cuba and establishment of Government. He took the mass movement to Congo and Bolivia, but within 2 years he was captured and executed in 1967 by the CIA.
Soon Che Guevara became a global hero and an inspirational leader among youth, children and even aged. Even today he has the same legacy and is still recognized by everyone as a great leader and a brilliant personality.
Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela is the former President of South Africa and a Noble Peace Prize laureate in 1993. In his early years he was an anti apartheid protester who had been imprisoned for 27 years due to his protests and movements against apartheid in South Africa. He set up the African National Congress for protests against apartheid and used non-violent means, but was also prepared for using violent means of destroying places with apartheid symbolism. But in 1962 he was imprisoned and was finally released on 1990, which had a worldwide significance.
After his release he once again became active in negotiations for ending apartheid in South Africa and for the first time ever in the history of South Africa, he led the ANC for first multi racial elections and successfully won it and became the first black president of South Africa. He ended apartheid, and took major decisions as the president of South Africa.
It was his able leadership, and determination that even after 27 years of prison he stood by his struggle against apartheid and became an idol, hero for all loving freedom, equality and justice.
Although the list isn’t confined with these 5 great people, and there are many more leaders and revolutionaries who are similar sources of inspiration and have their own place in World history.
